Tourism in France
France is one of the main tourist destinies of Europe due to its history, cities
and colorful geography. Among others many places the tourist should visit: the Castles of the Loire
(Châteaux of the Loire), located in a region of pools and forests; the Abbey of
Mont-Saint-Michel, constructed on a rock that emerges from the sea to certain
distance from the coast; the Palace of Versailles (Château de Versailles), the
prime example of the architecture of the XVII century; the city of Rennes, capital of the region of Britain (Bretagne), town of gaelic origin conquered by Julius Caesar; the cathedrals of Chartres, Amiens, Bourges and Reims, declared "World
Heritage" by UNESCO; the city of Rouen (Rouen), capital of the region of
Upper Normandy (Haute-Normandie), located over both margins of the Seine river; the city of Falls, capital of the region of
Lower Normandy (Basse-Normandie), with several historical monuments, like the Ducal Castle of
William the Conqueror and the churches of Saint Peter (Saint-Pierre) and Saint
John (Saint-Jean); Lille, capital of the Nord-Pas-de-Calais region, next to Belgium
that in its metropolitan area sandal to the cities Belgians of Courtrai, Ménin and Mouscron; the city of Metz, capital of the region of Lorraine (Lorraine), cradles of kings Carolingios; Dijon, capital of the Region of Burgundy (Bourgogne, Burgundy), a beautiful city that blanket very many monuments of
high historical and artistic value; the marvellous medieval town of Chauvigny, near Poitiers, in the region Poitou-Charentes; the city of Clermont-Ferrand, capital of the region of Auvergne; Limoges, capital of the region of Lemosín (Limousin), famous by the quality of its porcelains; the valley of the region of Alsace, separated of the German Black Forest by the Rhine river; the city of Lyon, second by
population (after Paris), capital of the region of the Rhone-Alps (the Rhône-Alps),
city of industrial and commercial prominence and a gastronomical center of international level; the calm and extensive Mediterranean beaches of the region of Languedoc-Rosellón (Languedoc-Roussillon); the Blue Coast, also on the Mediterranean, in that the gorgeous cities of Nize (Nice) and
Cannes, both located in Marine the Alps department; the island of Corsica (Corse or Corsica), with the colorful cities of Ajaccio and Bastia; and, in "the
City of Light" (Paris), the Eiffel Tower, the Elisseus Fields, the Place of the Concord, the Arc of the Triumph, the Cathedral of Notre Dame and the
